Enrile brought anew to Asian Eye Institute early Saturday
MANILA, Philippines- Senator Juan Ponce Enrile was brought anew to the Asian Eye Institute in Makati City early Saturday for his eye check up.
The 90-year old politician left the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital in Camp Crame early Saturday aboard a police ambulance.
His visit to the Asian Eye Institute took 30 minutes and was brought back by a high security convoy to his hospital detention shortly after 8 a.m.
While the police hospital has its own eye specialist, it does not have the facility to attend to Enrile’s eye problem, Chief Superintendent Alejandro Advincula, director of the PNP Health Services said.
Enrile has a macular degeneration, an age related eye condition that may lead to blindness if untreated.
