MANILA, Philippines—Despite the dismissal of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s bid to amend the plunder case against Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., it again moved to amend the charge sheet or information for plunder against Senator Juan Ponce Enrile in connection with the pork barrel scam.

In the memorandum submitted Thursday, the Special Prosecutor said that while the information filed is sufficient in form and substance, they deemed it “wise” to amend it to lessen the objections being raised by the defense.

They asked the anti-graft court to mention that the senator was “the one who amassed, accumulated and acquired ill-gotten wealth in connivance or in conspiracy with his co-accused public officer and private individuals.”

The government prosecutors also asked to include the phrases “collecting directly or indirectly,” and “and/or anomalous” as well as the words “percentage” and “collected.”

During Thursday afternoon’s hearing, the Sandiganbayan Third Division where Enrile’s case is pending also heard the other motions for judicial determination filed by Enrile’s co-accused.

The Third Division has yet to issue an arrest warrant against the Senator and his co-accused.
