MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday expressed gratitude now that Justice Secretary Leila De Lima’s appointment was finally recommended by the Commission on Appointments (CA).
“We are very, very pleased that Secretary De Lima was able to hurdle the CA committee level,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda told Palace reporters.
Lacierda thanked the committee on justice and the Judicial Bar Council for recommending the secretary’s confirmation to the CA plenary.
“We hope that she will be confirmed in the plenary,” he added.
De Lima’s appointment has been in limbo for four years, pending the CA’s approval.
