Boy found locked in Ontario bedroom for 2 years
LONDON, Ontario — Police say a 10-year-old boy has been found in filthy conditions in a locked bedroom at an Ontario home, where they allege he’d been held for up to two years.
The boy was taken to hospital Thursday and was diagnosed as being underweight and suffering from malnutrition.
Police say the boy was being looked after by his aunt and uncle but no names were released to protect the child’s identity.
Officials say the home’s master bedroom had an en suite bathroom so the child had access to a toilet and shower but they say the entire house was in squalid condition.
The boy’s aunt and uncle are both charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life and forcible confinement.
