Thunderstorms bring rain, cooler weather

MANILA, Philippines—Thunderstorms brought a reprieve from humid weather in Metro Manila and nearby areas on Friday afternoon.

“Thunderstorm is affecting portions of Metro Manila, Rizal, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac which may persist within two hours,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in an advisory at 5:04 p.m.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods.

A ridge of high pressure area is extended across Luzon. The intertropical convergence zone is affecting Mindanao, Pagasa’s afternoon bulletin said.
