Cayetano wants Senate doctor to determine Napoles’ real condition

MANILA, Philippines – Senate Majority Leader Alan Cayetano said that he wants to send the Senate doctor to determine if Janet Lim Napoles really is too sick to testify.

“If it’s (Napoles being sick) true, we can’t do anything about it but if she is just using it as an excuse, we can have her arrested and brought here,” Cayetano said in a press conference Monday.

Napoles is confined at the Ospital ng Makati after undergoing a surgical operation to remove her uterus.

The head of the medical team at OsMak said earlier Monday that Napoles is already in good condition to be released from the hospital after she previously suffered from bleeding.

Napoles’ lawyers, however, maintained that her bleeding was recurring.

“I want the Senate doctor to have a look at her to determine if it really is dangerous for her to come here,” Cayetano said.
