Napolcom employee nabbed for allegedly stealing boss’s ATM card, money
MANILA, Philippines—A National Police Commission (Napolcom) employee has been arrested after allegedly stealing his superior’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card and withdrawing almost P200,000 from the latter’s account.
Police said Napolcom Commissioner Alejandro Urro lodged a complaint before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) against his driver and a Napolcom employee Franklin Pagulayan for allegedly stealing his ATM card.
Senior Superintendent Bartolome Bustamante, CIDG Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crimes Unit (AFCCU) chief, said in a statement on that Pagulayan was apprehended on Thursday inside the Napolcom premises in Makati City.
After a thorough investigation, the AFCCU chief said the police found that Pagulayan used the ATM in 50 withdrawals, totalling to an estimate of P200,000.
He added that through the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footages obtained by the police, investigators positively identified Pagulayan as the suspect.
