“The lawyer [of Mrs. Napoles] texted and told me they cannot make today’s (Thursday) deadline,” De Lima told reporters Thursday. She said the lawyer told her that their work of completing the affidavit was slowed down by Napoles’ condition.

Last April, Napoles, before her operation, gave De Lima a list of those who benefitted from the government’s priority development assistance fund (PDAF) scam. Napoles promised De Lima she would submit a more comprehensive list and affidavit.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ordered De Lima to submit the list and affidavit of Napoles. Last week, De Lima sought a one week deadline to submit the list and affidavit but the committee’s head Senator Teofisto Guingona III granted De Lima’s request but only for the affidavit. De Lima submitted the list last week.
