Senate wants DOJ, NBI’s copy of Luy’s digital files
MANILA, Philippines – The Senate blue ribbon committee has issued a subpoena to the Department of Justice and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), directing them to submit the digital files that allegedly contain pork barrel transactions.
The files were allegedly transmitted to the NBI by “pork” scam whistle-blower Benhur Luy.
The committee being headed by Senator Teofisto Guingona III gave the DOJ and the NBI until May 28 to submit the requested files, Guingona’s staff member said in a text message to reporters on Thursday.
Guingona’s office said the subpoena will be submitted to Senate President Franklin Drilon for his signature.
