4 killed, 4 injured in Negros grenade blast
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines—Four persons were killed and four others were injured in a grenade explosion at Sitio Baylantihan, Barangay (village) Limalima, Isabela town 12:05 a.m. Monday, Senior Superintendent Milko Lirazan, acting Negros Occidental police provincial director, said.
Police learned that a man named Dagol Domingo went to the house of his neighbor, barangay watchman Melvin Tanghiyan, 42, to seek his help after an unidentified man threw a stone at him.
Domingo was then carrying a hand grenade that accidentally exploded in the house of Tanghiyan. Domingo, Tanghiyan, and his two children – Marynachel Tanghiyan, 13, and Caren Tanghiyan, 4 — were killed in the blast, Lirazan said.
Injured were the watchman’s wife Marilou Tanghiyan, 37, and their children Tazar, 10; Rica, 8; and Kevin, 8, who suffered multiple wounds on different parts of their bodies, Lirazan added.
