Van robbers exploit heavy QC traffic

Armed robbers apparently took advantage of the snail-paced traffic on a major Quezon City road to seize a van from a motorist Monday night. Jamel Macadaag, a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, was driving his white Toyota Hi-Ace (POB-139) on the heavily congested Mindanao Avenue near Alley 15 in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa around 6 p.m., when a man with a .38-cal. revolver approached and suddenly opened the front door on the passenger side. The man pointed the gun at Macadaag’s nape as another opened the door on the driver’s side and grabbed the steering wheel, according to a report from the Quezon City Police District’s Masambong station. The 30-year-old motorist, who was travelling alone, jumped off the van and ran to a nearby establishment to seek help from security guards. Publishing execs’ offices burglarized

A PUBLISHING firm in Quezon City lost over P300,000 in cash and equipment in a burglary discovered Monday. Stolen from Bookman Inc. on Quezon Avenue, Barangay Lourdes, were P250,000 in cash, a check for P40,000 and two cameras.
