MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan issued a Hold Departure Order against former Chief Justice Renato Corona and former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson on Friday.

Corona and Singson were barred from leaving the country as the Sandiganbayan’s Third Division ordered the Bureau of Immigration to include them in the agency’s Hold Departure List.

The orders were in relation to Corona’s perjury charges and Singson’s graft cases.

Corona is facing eight counts of perjury and another eight counts of violations of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees for his alleged undeclared assets before the Sandiganbayan.
