Manila, Philippines— Thousands of commuters were inconvenienced Tuesday morning when a train of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) line 1 got stalled in Bluementritt Station in Manila due to a technical problem.
“A south bound train lost traction power and required systems re-setting by line technicians,” LRT Authority spokesman Atty. Hernando Cabrera said on his Twitter account (@ttycabs).
Cabrera did not elaborate the glitch that forced commuters to get off the train but said on another tweet that the “LRT 1 operations resumed at around 7:22a.m.”
The LRT 1 is one of three elevated railways serving as an alternative mode of transportation for commuters in Metro Manila. It runs from the Pasay portion of Baclaran until Roosevelt in Quezon City.
