MANILA, Philippines—The Court of Appeals stopped the implementation of a Makati Court order ejecting banker Edna Camcam, the long-time partner of General Fabian Ver, the military head of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

In a four-page order, the appeals court special 11th division issued the 60-day restraining order against the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 66.

At the same time, the appeals court ordered Camcam to post a P10-million bond before the restraining order takes effect.

The Makati Court, in its ruling denied the ownership claim of Camcam over a Forbes Park mansion that was lent to her rent-free since the 1990s by a certain Dr. Daniel Vasquez.

In its decision dated Dec. 16, 2013, the Makati court noted that Camcam herself admitted that Vasquez owned the property on Cambridge Circle.

Vasquez claimed that he allowed Camcam to occupy the property upon the request of Ver who went on exile following the ouster of Marcos.
