Rains seen over parts of Visayas, Mindanao as LPA nears Surigao Del Sur

MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area over Mindanao will bring light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said Wednesday afternoon.

“Eastern and Central Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The LPA, which entered early in the day, was last observed 550 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains.

Western Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast to north over the rest of the country, Pagasa said.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
