MANILA, Philippines—A low pressure area, spotted 845 kilometers east of Mindanao, will bring rains to parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Wednesday.

The LPA entered early Wednesday, and Eastern and Central Visayas and Mindanao will thus be cloudy and will experience light to moderate rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Pagasa earlier said that the LPA was not likely to become a tropical depression but that it was not ruling out the possibility to become one.
