MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has given the Department of Justice (DOJ) to go-signal to proceed with three more sets of syndicated estafa against Globe Asiatique President Delfin Lee.

In a resolution released Monday, the high court issued a temporary restraining order against the Court of Appeals and Pasig City Regional Trial Court Judge Rolando Mislang that stopped the DOJ from pushing through with its investigation.

The Pasig Court, on April 10, 2013, stopped the DOJ from proceeding with the preliminary investigation against Lee. Then, the DOJ took the case to the appeals court, which affirmed the lower court’s ruling, prompting the DOJ to go to the Supreme Court.

The high court said a restraining order was issued “to prevent the injury arising from the materials and substantial invasion of the right of DOJ to continue with its power and function to investigate crimes and prosecute offenders.”
