MANILA, Philippines—Former President now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo asked the Sandiganbayan to allow her to celebrate her birthday in her hometown.

In her 4-page motion filed Monday, Arroyo is asking the high court for a furlough from April 4 to 6 to celebrate her 67th birthday in her hometown in Lubao, Pampanga.

Arroyo’s birthday is on April 5.

Arroyo added that she would shoulder the expenses if her request for a furlough will be granted.

The anti-graft court’s first division is set to hear the motion on March 13.

She is facing a plunder case for allegedly funneling money from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confidential fund for over three years during her presidency.
