Plane slams into house in Nueva Ecija town

MANILA, Philippines–A trainer aircraft carrying two pilots crashed into a residential area in Nueva Ecija early Thursday morning.

Senior Superintendent Crizaldo Nieves, Nueva Ecija police provincial director, said the plane operated by pilots Paul Tecson Pafultad, 30, and Myanmar national Wen Hiet, 21, crashed into a house around 7:20 a.m. in Barangay (village) Poblacion Norte in Rizal town.

Police said Pafultad of Binalonan town, Pangasinan, had a head injury while farmer Glenn Paraiso, 54, had bruises in the body when the plane hit his house at 7:30 a.m.

The co-pilot, Wen Htet, 21, of Myanmar, was unhurt, Ordanza said.

As of posting time, the plane is still on the roof of Villacorte’s house, and has yet to be removed.

Police said those injured were brought to Dr. Rafael Clinic for treatment.

An investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched.
