Plane crashes into house in Nueva Ecija town; 1 hurt

MANILA, Philippines–A trainer aircraft carrying two pilots crashed into a residential area in Nueva Ecija early Thursday morning.

Senior Superintendent Crizaldo Nieves, Nueva Ecija police provincial director, said the plane operated by pilots Paul Tecson Pafultad, 30, and Myanmar national Wen Hiet, 21, crashed into a house around 7:20 a.m. in Barangay (village) Poblacion Norte in Rizal town.

The pilot, Tecson, of Binalonan town in Pangasinan, sustained head injuries while his co-pilot Hiet, resident of the same, was in good condition.

Glenn Paraiso Villacorte, a farmer and owner of the house damaged by the plane, was unhurt in the incident.

As of posting time, the plane is still on the roof of Villacorte’s house, and has yet to be removed.

Police said Pafultad and Hiet were brought to Dr. Rafael Clinic for treatment.

The cause of the crash is yet to be determined‎.
