NATO confirms five Afghan soldiers killed accidentally
KABUL – The NATO coalition confirmed five Afghan soldiers were killed accidently in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, in an incident that government officials said was a mistaken US drone strike on a local army base.
“We can confirm that at least five Afghan National Army personnel were accidentally killed this morning during an operation in eastern Afghanistan,” NATO force spokeswoman Major Cathleen Snow said in a statement.
