4.9 magnitude quake hits off the coast of Cagayan
MANILA, Philippines – A 4.9 magnitude earthquake jolted Calayan, Cagayan off its coast on Friday morning, the state seismologist said.
In the latest earthquake bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake hit 171 kilometers north of Calayan at 10:28 a.m.

The quake has a depth of focus of 33 kilometers and is tectonic in origin.
No damage and aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs said.
Meanwhile, a 2.7 magnitude quake jolted 72 kilometers south off the coast of Anini-y, Antique at 4:08 a.m. on Friday, Phivolcs said in a separate quake bulletin.
