PAF’s 560th wing turns 43, honors men

THE Philippine Air Force’s 560th Airbase Wing in Mactan Benito Ebuen Airbase (MBEAB) celebrated its 43rd founding anniversary by honoring the men and women who served PAF.

Gracing the event on Sept. 2 was Lt. General Oscar Rabena, PAF commanding general.

Brig. Gen. Raul Gabriel Dimatatac, commander of the 560th Airbase Wing, awarded the personnel and even some civilians who had contributed to the improvement and welfare of MBEAB.

First Lt. Gil Andal received the award for officer of the year, while T/Sgt. George Lapiña was awarded as non-commissioned officer of the year.

FEATURED STORIES

Sgt. Rhodelino Manimtim was awarded airman of the year while Rowena Mepiza was awarded as civilian employee of the year.

In the unit awards, the 561st Support Group was awarded as group of the year while the 5611th Security Forces Squadron was awarded as squadron of the year.

Airman 1st Class Kristian de Leon was awarded with instep integrity award, while Sgt. Dan Neil Despi was given service award.

The teamwork award was given to the 5613th Base Services Squadron, while Sgt. Ericson Castil and Master Sgt. Virgilio Cabanilla received excellence and professionalism awards.

The Rotary Club of Mactan was also honored along with David Collins, Ferdinand Balao and Rey Sanchez.

The 5th Air Force Reserve Command and 5052nd Search and Rescue Squadron were also honored. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
