De Lima: Lawmakers linked to pork barrel scam may have gotten more

MANILA, Philippines–Lawmakers implicated in the pork barrel scam may have received more than what whistle-blower Benhur Luy stated, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Friday.

De Lima, who accompanied respondent turned state witness Ruby Tuason to the Office of the Ombudsman said Tuason indicated that there were amounts of money she delivered that were not in the accounting records of Luy.

However, De Lima, together with Tuason’s lawyer Dennis Manalo, said Tuason’s testimony corroborated that of Luy’s.

“Her testimony is very vital, very corroborative,” De Lima said.

Tuason’s testimony “will be confirmed as to its material points,” Manalo said.
