Drug dealer nabbed in North Cotabato
KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines — Police authorities said a big-time drug dealer was arrested in Kabacan, North Cotabato, in a buy-bust operation on Monday during which the authorities confiscated from him about P1 million worth of shabu or metamphetamine hydrochloride.
Superintendent Jordain Maribojo, Kabacan police chief, said Dave Joseph Bornea was collared by a team of policemen and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as he handed over a large sachet of shabu to an agent posing as a buyer Monday afternoon.
Maribojo said Bornea, 36, a resident of Barangay (village) Osias, was as among those behind the proliferation of shabu in Kabacan.
Charges of violation of the anti-drugs act were being prepared against the suspect, who is detained at the Kabacan police holding cell, he said.
“The suspect is just the tip of the iceberg,” Maribojo said, hinting at more police raids in the coming days.
