No plans yet for Aquino’s birthday, says Palace
MANILA, Philippines – With all his responsibilities, President Benigno Aquino III may look forward to a day’s worth of rest and relaxation on his birthday, the Palace said Sunday.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, in a press briefing, said that there are no plans yet for Aquino’s birthday (Feb. 8), but that the weekend could be devoted for his much-needed rest.
“This year, his birthday will fall on a Saturday. Perhaps baka makapahinga nang kaunti (He may take the opportunity to get some rest),” she said.
The spokesperson said they have not been advised of any “special plans” for the President.
The Palace, in a statement, said Aquino had always treated his birthday as an ordinary working day. Last year, he visited a young cancer patient at the Philippine Orthopedic center in Quezon City.
