‘Agaton’ death toll reaches 68

MANILA, Philippines-Fatalities from the year’s first tropical depression rose to 68 Thursday, from Wednesday’s 66, a statement from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

Also, 85 people were injured and nine still listed missing after Tropical Depression “Agaton” struck Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region and Caraga last Jan. 19.

The tropical depression caused, as of Thursday, a total of P527,208,104.72 worth of damage with P273,623,750.00 from infrastructure and P253,584,354.72 from the agriculture sector.
