MANILA, Philippines—As of now, there is no case against former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. following allegations that he also made dealings with alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles and her non-government organizations, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Thursday.
“I have not seen a sworn statement on that [allegation against Revilla Sr.]. If [whistleblower] Benhur Luy or any other would submit an affidavit, then we will study that, refer it to the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) team to procure supporting documents,” De Lima said.
Luy said Revilla Sr. allegedly “channeled P35 million of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to local government units — Clarin, Misamis Oriental (P10 million); San Quintin, Pangasinan (P5 million); Porac, Pampanga (P5 million); Siniloan, Laguna (P 5 million); San Juan, Leyte (P5 million); and Dawis, Bohol (P5 million).”
But she pointed out that while there were reports on Luy’s allegations, she said “we cannot just rely on news reports.”
