Pedicab driver stabbed dead
After watching a dance contest in Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Saturday night, three men from the audience stabbed to death another spectator who was on his way home.
The police are now looking for the men who attacked 18-year-old pedicab driver Jay-ar Lagmay. SPO2 Milbert Balingan of the Manila Police District homicide division said the suspects and victim had just finished watching a dance contest when they got into an argument, leading to the killing of Lagmay.
Initial police investigation showed that at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the victim was walking on Bacood corner Bataan Streets when one of the three men approached him and asked where he lived. Some witnesses told the police that Lagmay shouted at the man who asked him the question, irking the latter who yelled back at the victim.
The victim tried to draw a knife from his pocket, but the suspect stabbed him first in the chest and then fled with his cohorts. Lagmay was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but he died during treatment. Maricar B. Brizuela
