NBI nabs suspected smuggler ‘David Tan’
MANILA, Philippines—The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested suspected smuggler Davidson Bangayan or David Tan after he went to the office to clear his name.
Justice Secretary Leila De Lima confirmed that Tan has a pending warrant of arrest before the Caloocan City Regional Trial Court Branch 126 for violation of Republic Act 7832 or the Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines or the Materials Pilferage Act of 1994.
He can post a P40,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Tan went to the NBI to deny allegations that he was the one tagged as big time rice smuggler.
