Manila City government suspends work for Black Nazarene feast

MANILA, Philippines—The City of Manila has already suspended work for its employees on Thursday, Jan. 9, the Feast of the Black Nazarene, based on Executive order 42 signed Wednesday by Mayor Joseph Estrada.

However, excluded from the work suspension are those involved in the maintenance of peace and order, law enforcement, disaster and risk reduction management and health and sanitation.

In the same order, classes on all levels in Manila are also suspended.
