Foreign student faces drug raps after arrest in Baguio

MANILA, Philippines – A Sudanese national faces charges of violating the Dangerous Drugs Act after he was arrested over the weekend in Baguio City for alleged possession of illegal drugs.

Wadah Mohamed Elwasila Elsadig alias Mards, 22, of Shandi City in Sudan, is a third year college student at AMA Computer College in Baguio City.

He was arrested last January 4 by elements of PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) under Director Ronald Allan DG Ricardo and PNP Criminal Investigation Detection Group-CAR (PNP CIDG-CAR).

Seized inside his boarding house were one blister pack of Valium (Diazepam) containing six tablets of 10 milligram per tablet, one empty blister pack of Diazepam, one medium plastic zip lock containing dark brown substance suspected to be marijuana hashish weighing five grams placed in a brown wooden ash tray, one brown rectangular bar of suspected marijuana hashish weighing 13.02 grams  wrapped in transparent plastic placed inside a cigarette box, and one brown rectangular bar of suspected marijuana hashish placed in a transparent plastic with an estimated weight of 14.94 grams.

The suspect is detained at the PDEA CAR jail facility.
