4th quake hits off Ilocos Norte

MANILA, Philippines—Another earthquake struck off Burgos town in Ilocos Norte at 6: 24 p.m. following a series of tremors Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

The latest undersea quake of 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale was centered about 98 kilometers northwest of Burgos at a depth of 24 kilometers.

At 3:02 a.m., a 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck off the northern town followed by a 4.7 tremor about 30 minutes later.

A weaker 3.1 magnitude quake followed at 10:48 a.m.
