Burglars take P300k from gov’t worker’s house

/ 03:16 AM December 17, 2013

A government worker lost some P300,000 in cash and valuables to robbers who broke into her house in Quezon City while she and her partner were away for the weekend.

Regina Cruz, 36, a resident of Barangay (village) Immaculate Concepcion and an employee of the Presidential Legislative Liaisons Office, said she lost a television set, two laptop computers, a tablet, a cell phone, two gaming gadgets, two external hard drives and P150,000 in jewelry.

Cruz and her Brazilian live-in partner said they left their house around 6 p.m. on Saturday since the latter had to attend a football game in Subic. The couple returned home at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday to find their valuables already missing.

The police theorized that the thieves scaled the fence of the house and then destroyed the main door to get into the house.—Julie M. Aurelio
