Santiago to Ramos: Go get Gadhafi
MANILA, Philippines – Former President Fidel Ramos should find and capture the fallen Libyan leader if he wants him in the Senate, said Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago Wednesday.
Santiago issued this challenge on Wednesday in response to Ramos’ statement that Moammar Gadhafi should be invited in the Senate investigation into the alleged campaign donations he had received from the Libyan leader.
She said Ramos should understand that no congressional committee has the power to summon a foreigner, unless he was being investigated for a crime committed on Philippine territory.
“He is whistling in the dark. He must be off his rocker,” she said in a statement.
Santiago described Ramos’ call to have Gadhafi invited in the Senate “geriatric ranting and raving.”

“I am a laureate of the Magsaysay award for government service. Ramos is not a laureate of the Magsaysay award. End of debate,” Santiago added.
