Pagara sees action this Sat in Dumaguete card
BEFORE making his debut in the ALA Promotions’ “IDOL” Boxing series next year, Prince Albert Pagara (17-0,12KOs) will have a tune-up fight against Gadwin Tubigon this Saturday in the main event of ALA-Cobra Tunay Na Lakas Fight Card at the Freedom Park of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
In a press conference yesterday held at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, Pagara expressed his excitement to fight Dipolog City’s Tubigon who sports a record of nine wins along with seven losses, two draws and four knock-outs.
It’s almost six months since the 19-year old Pagara stepped inside the ring last July where he knocked-out Thai Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth in the second round at the plush Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City, Manila.
For him, this bout against Tubigon, who once challenged for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super featherweight title is a fitting tune-up fight for a tougher battle next year. They will battle for 10-rounds.
Present during yesterday’s press conference were Governor Roel Degamo and Provincial Sports Coordinator Paul Paras along with Pagara and his trainer Edito Villamor and the other protagonists that will be featured in the fight card on Saturday night.
Another undefeated ALA Boxing Gym prospect, Juren Labordo (11-0, 7KOs) will face Jaymart Tuyco (13-4, 9KOs) in the 10-round co-main event.
