2nd Tisa skateboard slated Dec. 21

CEBUANO skateboarders will have something to look forward to when the 2nd Tisa Skateboard Competition blasts off this Dec. 21, Saturday, at the Tisa Gym in barangay Tisa, Labangon.

The event, which will be held from from 1 to 8 p.m., according to Jeson Guardo, head of the organizing group G-Concept.

“We feature events like this because we would like to encourage the Cebuano youth to take up sports and make them their hobbies like skateboarding so that their attention will be diverted from doing bad things and instead spend their time with more meaningful sports,” Guardo said.

A total of 100 skateboarders are expected to join the event with defending champion Cliff Rigor spearheading the pack. Rigor won during the first edition of the tournament held last August.

Aside from skateboarding, there will also be an event called the “Fingerboard Competition”, which is co-sponsored by Rebel Fingerboard, Dongkoi Diola and GAP.

Registration is pegged at P50 for the skateboard competition, while the fingerboard competition has a registration fee of P30. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
