NBI sends medical, technical groups in Tacloban City

MANILA, Philippines—The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has sent a group of doctors and technical personnel to Tacloban in Leyte to help in the rehabilitation and relief efforts for the survivors of typhoon Yolanda.

NBI Officer in Charge Medardo de Lemos said Tuesday that the team is part of the Disaster Victims Identification of the NBI that they mobilize in times of calamities and tragedy like the sinking of MV Princess of the Stars and during typhoons Sendong, Reming and Pablo.
The team went to Tacloban via C130 plane from the Philippine Air Force at 3p.m.
The group is headed by Dr. Reynaldo Romero. The group will first assess where they can set up for work because the NBI office in Tacloban was also destroyed by the storm.
