2nd leg of PSC-Philta net gets underway

THE 2nd leg of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-Philippine lawn Tennis Association (Philta) Visayas Junior Tennis Championships will unfold today at the La Paz Tennis Courts in Iloilo City with 105 netters seeing action

According to Philta-Mindanao Regional Vice President, Juanito Cansino, Jr., the players who registered for today’s Philta Group 2 event hail from Manila, Kalibo Aklan, Bacolod and Iloilo. No Cebuano netters are listed so far.

The opening program at 9 a.m. will be graced by Vice-Mayor Joe Espinosa III along with Philta Vice-president for Iloilo City Dr.Andres Bayona and Club President Wilmer Escuadro.

This tourney along with the third leg in Bacolod, will serve as a tune-up tournament for players who will be competing in the coming 2013 Bacolod City Batang Pinoy National Games. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
