Firefighters’ vehicle robbed in Manila North Cemetery
MANILA, Philippines–A Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) vehicle was robbed at the Manila North Cemetery Friday as thousands of people flocked to cemeteries to visit their departed loved ones.
A travelling bag that was inside the emergency services vehicle parked outside the cemetery and containing equipment of BFP San Lazaro Fire Station was stolen Friday afternoon, according to a radio report.
The wallet of Fire Inspector Levy Cerillo of the Manila Fire Department, which contained P2,500, was also among the stolen items.
A trainee emergency medical services personnel who was watching over the vehicle had left for a few minutes and returned to find the vehicle had been robbed.
The Manila North Cemetery is among the cemeteries in Metro Manila where the most number of people are expected to converge for the All Saints’ Day commemoration.
