MANILA, Philippines—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority lifted the unified vehicular reduction program or number coding on Thursday in Metro Manila.

In a Twitter post, however, it mentioned that the number rule is not lifted in the cities of Makati and Pasay.

Since the number coding rule is automatically lifted on holidays, this time for the observation of the All Saints’ Day, MMDA-Metrobase said the scheme will resume on Monday.

Meanwhile, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino is currently at the Araneta Bus Terminal to inspect the condition of bus drivers before they travel.

In an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Tolentino said he subjected all bus drivers there to undergo a breath analyzer test before they be allowed to travel.

“Importante kasing malaman na hindi sila nakainom para maging ligtas ang pagbyahe nila,” Tolentino said.

A breath analyzer equipment can detect if a person is under the influence of alcohol.
