FATHER MAULED TO DEATH

A 55-YEAR-OLD man was mauled to death by his son after they argued in their home in barangay Tabunok, Sogod town, northern Cebu on Friday morning.

Melicio Sugarol was struck in the head with a screw bar and was also stabbed in the abdomen.

The suspect, Luin Sugarol, was mentally unstable, police said.

Police said Sugarol got irked when his father poured water to the corn grits.

The two argued which resulted to the fatal beating.

BOY HURT IN BOGO ROAD MISHAP

A 12-YEAR-OLD BOY was seriously injured after he was hit by a motorcycle in barangay Bungtod, Bogo City, northern Cebu last Friday afternoon.

Police said the boy was crossing S. Verallo Street when he was hit by a motorcycle driven by 18-year old Tom Jeric Olaran.

The boy was taken to the Bogo District Hospital and was moved to a hospital in Cebu city.

Police released Olaran after reaching an amicable settlement with the victim’s family.
