Man hangs self after spat with partner

A man  allegedly hanged himself after he and his live-in partner argued in their house in barangay Bulacao, Cebu City ,last Monday night.

Bryan Esperanza, 24, was found suspended from the beam of his room with a blanket tied around his neck.

Police said that before the man was found dead, he and his live-in partner, Guisila Mahusay, argued when the woman didn’ t allow him to go out of the house to buy burger.

During the fight, the man threatened to commit suicide.

Because of the earlier incident, the woman opted to sleep with her mother in a separate room.

It was around 7 a.m. when the woman discovered that the man had committed suicide, said PO2 Michael Codaste, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police.

Mahusay told police that Esperanza was very touchy and had tried to commit suicide several times over petty fights.

Police said things inside Esperanza’s room were in order and that he had no external injuries, indicating that there was no foul play in his death.

The body was brought to the Cebu Rolling Hills for an autopsy, said police./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
