USC reclaims lead in Cesafi football
THE University of San Carlos (USC) took back the top spot in the collegiate division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) football competition yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The kicking Warriors nailed their third straight win with a 4-0 drubbing of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF).
The Caballero brothers waxed hot for USC with Yves Caballero scoring two of the four goals, in the 23rd and 72nd minutes.
Jonathan Caballero opened the Warriors’ goal rush when he found the back of the net five minutes into the ballgame.
Karl Arcenas wrapped up USC’s win with his goal in the 83rd minute.
The win put USC back at the top of the leaderboard with nine points equivalent to three wins in as many games. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
