Gunsmith nabbed in Danao

POLICE arrested a suspected unlicensed gunmaker in barangay Tabok, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Ronito Pasana, 41, was arrested in his shanty in sitio Tak-an by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) Thursday afternoon.

Also seized from the shanty were a .38 caliber revolver, a .45 pistol, a .25 pistol, at least 100 gun barrels and gun-making equipment.

A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Terestia Galanida of Mandaue City was used in the operation.

Police also arrested the Pasana’s 46-year-old brother after he was caught in the act of cleaning the gun barrels.

Police said there were gun workers in the shanty but they were able to avoid capture by the arresting team.
