Dandan replaced as UP coach

/ 04:47 PM August 20, 2013

SOURCES confirmed that the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons head coach Ricky Dandan was sacked and replaced by team manager Rey Madrid.

According to this unimpeachable source, the development transpired following UP’s  59-67 loss to Ateneo last week. It was the Maroons’ eighth loss in a row.

However, a report in Spin.ph said that UP chancellor Dr. Caesar Saloma will soon come out with a statement reiterating that Dandan is still the team’s head coach since the College of Human Kinetics still has the final say on team matters. Apparently, it was the school’s alumni association that ousted Dandan and appointed Madrid. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
