Demecillo retains PH title in Dipolog
MARCO Demecillo of the RWS Gym of Cebu retained his Philippine superflyweight title with a hard-earned unanimous decision win over Giovanni Escaner of Parañaque City in their fight held last Saturday in Dipolog City.
Demecillo, who fights under the name Marco Singwangcha, won by scores of 116-114, 117-116 and 115-113 after 12 rounds.
RWS gym matchmaker Willy Flores relayed the fight results to CDN.
The win enabled Demecillo (19W-1L-1D,14KOs) to bounce back from his first career loss by unanimous decision to OPBF superflyweight champion Arthur Villanueva of the ALA Gym in Davao City last April. This was Escaner’s first career loss as he dropped to 10W-1L, 6KOs.
In the undercard bouts — Gadwin Tubigon won by 10-round unanimous decision over Doriel Ramos; Anthony Sabalde beat Jeffrey Jimenez by second round knockout; Carlo Demecillo won by TKO 3rd round against Juanito Tumugsok; Kenny Demecillo beat Edward Camion by TKO in the 6th round and Melmark Dignos beat Bryan Capangpangan by unanimous decision.
The fight card billed as Astig Pinoy I was held at the Dipolog Sports Complex.
