QC woman with cancer appeals for aid

Ma. Teresa Toledo Cervantes was all set to become a real estate broker when she was diagnosed with cancer.

The 49-year-old boarder at Ortiz Building, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City, is appealing for blood donations and financial assistance.

“I thank God I’m still alive and not losing hope at all,” Cervantes said when she approached the Inquirer earlier this week.

She was then scheduled for a series of tests at Philippine General Hospital, where she said doctors had advised her to undergo surgery that would cost P50,000 and then have six chemotherapy sessions also costing P50,000 per session.
