Realty tax amnesty in Munti till Dec. 31

Delinquent real property tax payers in Muntinlupa City now have an easier chance to meet their obligations after the local government’s recent approval of a tax amnesty.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi signed an ordinance on Aug. 5 allowing property owners to pay unsettled tax obligations without having to pay penalties or interests.

The city’s public information office said the tax amnesty period would start next week and last until Dec. 31.

Beyond that period, “the total unpaid balance of the delinquent real property taxes and the entire amount of interest as well as penalties and surcharges… shall become automatically due and demandable,” the ordinance said. Jaymee T. Gamil
