Marcos honors late DA Usec. Savellano, mourns loss

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. honored Agriculture Undersecretary for Livestock Deogracias Victor “DV” Savellano, who passed away on Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. honored Agriculture Undersecretary for Livestock Deogracias Victor “DV” Savellano, who passed away on Tuesday.

His passing was announced by the National Tobacco Administration in a Facebook post.

Marcos, in his message, said he is “deeply saddened” by the death of Deogracias, whom he described as a “true public servant, a dear friend, and someone whose heart always belonged to the people he served.

The President also commended Deogracias for carrying out dedication to his role at the Department of Agriculture and as governor and representative of Ilocos Sur.

“To his family and loved ones, I offer my sincerest condolences. DV’s legacy will endure in the lives he touched and in the progress he brought to Ilocos and the nation,” he said.

Marcos also said in Ilocano, “𝘈𝘨𝘺𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘬𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘪 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘺 𝘢 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘱𝘰, 𝘋𝘝.”
